I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out because they were all impacted. Recovery was about 2 days before I started eating normal food. I felt great though. Almost no pain after the surgery.

You can start off with either hitmonlee or hitmonhan in gen two and there's a tyrogue thats given to you in mt mortar. Or just breed which ever one u started with ditto and evolve it.

Re: your wisdom teeth - I'm also 31 and got my top two wisdom teeth taken out at 29. It really wasn't bad! The best food I ate was chana masala over top of mashed potatoes, because it had actual texture and taste, but the lentils didn't need to be chewed - I could just crush them with my tongue. Hope your recovery goes well!

MDBAMA what's your favorite Pokemon gen? I know you do a lot of gen 1 runs, so maybe that's your favorite gen deep down? I like your runs regardless of the gen, and it's neat to see runs past gen 3 since I stopped buying games after gen 3. You rock!

I think the simplest way to go about it is a Pokemon HeartGold run with Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Hitmontop. You start the game with one of the Hitmons, any will do but I suggest Hitmontop that getting that to evolve from Tyrogue is the most difficult out of the 3. Then there's an NPC in Mt. Mortar that gifts you a Level 10 Tyrogue that you can evolve into another one of the Hitmons. After that, you can breed the 2 that you have for a third Tyrogue that you can evolve into the last Hitmon. Just be sure to use a bunch of Protiens and Irons to give the Tyrogues enough of a stat difference for them to evolve into Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan respectively.
